This $50 face value Junk Silver Bag contains coins minted before 1965, weighs roughly 2.7 pounds, and contains 90% silver purity. The bag consists of dimes, quarters, and half dollars, all of which were used as common currency before their discontinuation in 1964.

Silver coins minted before 1965 compose of 90% silver, with the remaining 10% composition of copper. These pre-1965 circulated coins minted by the U.S. Mint included  dimes, quarters and half-dollars. The ‘$50 face value’ reflects the total silver content in the bag.
